Fast Forward to 2023
The Idea has never gone away...
The GRACE Foundation has been thinking of ways to get it back on track. In conversations with the Staten Island FerryHawks, Staten Island Media Group, and GRACE Foundation since November of 2022.
Since this is an event that transcends one organization, GRACE reached out to all the local nonprofits that work with developmentally delayed participants and asked if we could make this event coincide with Autism Acceptance Month in April of 2023.
Over the last few months, we have begun to reach out to Guinness for clarification, and begun to discuss logistics, planning, costs, and marketing to ensure that the event will not only break the Guinness Book Record but be a meaningful event to all involved.
Initial meetings with The SI FerryHawks, SIMG, GRACE, OYM, Eden II, AVSP, Lifestyles, Community Resources, PCCS, The Integrated Athletic Initiative, Tekie Geek, PrCision, The Carl V Bini Fund, and Marvel Consults have allowed us to map out how to break the record.
Now we are reaching out to approximately 60 nonprofits, schools, both public and private, elected officials, and businesses as the next steps in the event.
